On February 19, 2026, Norview High School was awarded for 100 years of excellence with Cognia. The celebration took place in the auditorium, and it was a great success! The celebration began with a welcome by Mrs. Mariah Stewart, the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year, and Norview’s Principal, Dr. Jacobs-Sumbry. Ms. Rogers then recognized the guests attending and explained the purpose of the ceremony: to celebrate 100 years of accreditation with Cognia.

Once the opening ceremony was complete, the audience enjoyed performances by the Norview Orchestra, Norview NJROTC, and a closing performance by the Sound of the 757 Marching band.

In between these performances, students, staff, and guests learned about Norview High School’s history from the 2026 Senior Class President, Amir Hatfield.

At the end of the celebration, Dr. Myra Sawyers, the Director of Cognia in the Northeast Region, presented Norview with the 100 years of Cognia award.

The event was so much fun to watch, and students especially enjoyed the NHS Orchestra, NJROTC, and the Sound of the 757 Marching Band.
